The Graduate Student Association (GSA) at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is an institution-wide organization that seeks to advance the interests of approximately 2,300 UNC graduate students through the representation of their needs and support of activities central to graduate education.

The GSA organizes the distribution of the largest pool of research and conference grant funding available to all graduate students at UNC. GSA will review grants on a rolling basis until the grant fund budget is depleted for the fiscal year.

The GSA is also tasked with contributing to the well-being of the graduate community. The GSA coordinates numerous social events and professional development programs, develops campus and community partnerships, appoints graduate students to campus committees and provides general support to UNC graduate students.

Volunteer with the GSA

If you are interested in volunteering with the GSA, please send an email to gsa@mxy163.com. Positions include:

The GSA has an elected president, who works 18 hours per week as a graduate assistant to lead the organization. Other elected officers include a 10-hour per week vice-president for communication, a 10-hour per week Finance Director, college representatives and at-large representatives. GSA seeks representation from master's, doctoral, specialist and non-degree seeking graduate students. Students serving as elected representatives receive either a research grant of $200 per semester or a Graduate Dean’s Scholarship of $250 per semester. Elections will normally take place on an annual basis.
